In the nineties a research group at
the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications, Poznan University
of Technology, dealing with the problems of synchronization - in a
co-operation with other firms - prepared the concepts, designed and
implemented the following equipment and systems:
Unique system for complex wander (frequency below 10Hz) testing in
synchronization network for accordance with international standards.
The SP-2000 system was the first system, replaced by SP-3000 system
in the year 2001.
-
Time and frequency source with oven-controlled
quartz or rubidium oscillator, synchronized from the Global Positioning
System GPS.
-
Portable frequency standard source with automatic
compensation of ageing effects of the built-in rubidium oscillator
by means of an external timing signal or GPS signal, coming out
from an external GPS receiver. The source is frequency retrace error-free,
due to the built-in power supply maintenance during transportation.
-
Cheap and user-friendly timing signal distributors
(splitters) DST, enabling to split the primary or secondary input
signal into many output signals. The distributors have a remote
alarm built-in, which makes it possible for the operator to organise
a central control over the presence of input and output synchronization
signals in distant objects almost without costs (ie. using the existing
resources of transmission or switching network).
At present over 200 items of the above mentioned equipment are working
in telecommunication networks of different operators, like TP S.A.,
PTC "ERA", CENTERTEL, ALCATEL, in research laboratories,
etc.
